Sensory Room at Morningside

Morningside UMC opened a sensory room in 2024! We’re excited to offer our community a space where children, teens, and adults can meet the needs of their nervous systems as they engage a community of faith.

This room is possible thanks to a generous donation from Garten, right here in Salem. Our sensory room is open on Sundays during worship and fellowship times. You can watch a livestream of the worship service on a TV screen while using the room.

If you or someone with you feels sensory overload during worship, you are invited to use our sensory room. Turn left at the back of the sanctuary and take a right past Hermann Hall. Turn right at the bathrooms and the sensory room is the last door on the left. You can watch the service on a screen in the sensory room. We ask caregivers to remain with their child in the sensory room.

Contact Pastor Jenny at pastorjenny@opendoorchurches.org if you’d like to schedule a time to visit the sensory room during the week so you or your loved one can acclimate to the space ahead of a possible Sunday visit. We know how much that can help!
